Escalandrum Album

Escalandrum presents his new album 100 in tribute to the centenary of Astor Piazzolla in the Tribute Cycle for the Centennial of his Birth that will take place at the Teatro Colón on March 11.

The multi-award-winning musical group led by Pipi Piazzolla, grandson of the “tango revolutionary”, publishes this plate with ten songs by Astor, reverting them with his very particular gaze that was defined as “the music of Buenos Aires of the XXI century”. The cd “100” was recorded in two of the most important studios in the world: Abbey Road in London and Estudios ION in Buenos Aires, with the moving novelty of including an unpublished recording of Astor Piazzolla’s bandoneon made in the mid-70s at ION and loaned by Osvaldo Acedo, which became the introduction to the Troilean Suite that later completed Escalandrum. The songs included in “100”, the 14th album by these virtuoso musicians, are: Primavera Porteña, Soledad, La Muralla China, Milonga en D, Intro by Bandoneón, Zita, Whiskey, Escolazo, Adiós Nonino and Michelangelo 70.
